How clearance is carried out

Work begins with a risk assessment covering access, containment, protection and disposal. Access is by the appropriate means for the elevation, MEWP, tower or roof access, operated by IPAF accredited operatives. Material is removed under controls rather than dry-brushed or hosed, bagged and disposed of appropriately, and the cleared surface is then disinfected.

Gutters, hoppers, downpipes and outlets are cleared where affected, because drainage blockage is usually the most expensive knock-on effect of long-term fouling.

Where clearances are needed
